해외에서 자영업 하시는 한국인 사장님들을 존경하며 감사하다. Much Respect and Gratitude to Korean Entrepreneurs Abroad

 해외여행 140일차가 지나가면서 제일 힘든건 역시 음식이다. 

나름 이제 4개월이 넘어가니 외국 친구들 영어로 더 많이 대화하며, 카톡도 잘 들어가서 보지 않게 된다. 당연히 한글도 사용빈도가 적어지는 것이 사실이다. 그럼에도 내가 아 진짜 한국인이구나 하면서 느끼게 될 때는 김치 그리고 매운 음식이 너무너무 먹고 싶은 하루가 그렇다. 정말 다 괜찮은데 음식 하나는 어쩔 수가 없다.. 음식은 본능인것 같다. 

페루 쿠스코에 한식집을 찾아보니 호스텔에서 아래  식당이 가까웠다.  평점도 너무너무 좋았다. 

또 감동받은게 몆가지가 있었는데 다음과 같다. 

1. 물을 무료로 제공해주어서 정말 한국 식당 같았다. 

2. 심지어 공기밥도 무료로 한공기 주었다. 

3. 반찬도 리필해주었다. 

장기 세계여행자에게는 정말 천국이나 다름없었다. 화장실도 돈을 받는 남미에서 이 세가지를 무료로 주다니.... 충격이 컸다. 140일을 남미에 지내니 남미패치가 확실이 업데이트되었다. 

김치찌게라 김치만 남기고 정말 깨끗하게 먹었다. ㅋㅋㅋ 

너무 맛있게 먹어서 먹으면서 드는 생각은  이곳에 ..... 

한국식당이 없었다면 어땠을까 생각해보았다. 한식당을 열어주신 사장님께 감사해다. 인사라도 하고싶었는데 사장님은 안계셨다. 그냥 요즘은 모든 것이 감사하다.  여행운부터 여행을 할 수 있다는 사실도 감사하고 이렇게 맛있는 식사를 할 수 있다는 것도 감사하다. 

이 가게를 홍보해주려고 쓰는 글이 아니라 그냥 해외에서 나도 고군분투하면서 간절하게 절박하게 여행하는데 해외에서 사업하는 모든 자영업 사장님들이 잘 되셨으면 좋겠다는 생각을 했다. 

실제로 내가 사장님들 잘되시라고 한국인 사장님들 말고도 외국에서 내 얼굴 걸고 후기를 많이 써드린다. 이유는 글은 힘이 있기에 분명 이글도 누군가 볼텐데 긍정을 남겨 긍정의 힘이 다시 나에게 돌아오길 바란다. 

최근에 여행사부터 서비스가 최악인 장소들도 몆군데 있었지만 절대 절대 악의적인 리뷰는 작성하지 않았다. 부정도 결국 다시 나비효과 처럼 다시 돌아올 수 있다고 믿는다. 

오늘 한식을 지구반대편에서 맛있게 먹을 수 있어서 감사한 하루다.

I have deep respect and gratitude for all the Korean business owners running their own shops abroad.
Seeing them work so hard in unfamiliar environments—overcoming language barriers, cultural differences, and countless challenges—is truly inspiring.

they're carrying a piece of Korea wherever they go.
From local restaurants to convenience stores, beauty salons, cafés, and more—

There were a few things that truly moved me:

1. They offered water for free—it genuinely felt like being back at a Korean restaurant.

2. They even gave me a free bowl of rice.

3. Side dishes were refillable, too.

For someone on a long-term journey around the world, this place felt like heaven.
In South America, where even using the restroom often comes with a fee,
these three things being completely free was honestly shocking.

After spending 140 days in South America,
I can say with confidence that I’ve been fully "South America patched."
(meaning I've adapted to the local reality here!)

I often write positive reviews for small business owners abroad—not just for Korean owners, but for others as well.
Why? Because I believe words have power.
Someone, somewhere will read what I wrote.
And if I can leave behind something positive,
I hope that energy will one day come back to me too.

Recently, there were a few places—especially some tour agencies—where the service was truly disappointing.
But still, I never left a malicious review.
I believe that even negativity can eventually return to you, like a butterfly effect.
